The Human Warmth Fund is a ministry of Lutheran Family Services of Virginia and Lutheran Churches of Southside Virginia that provides financial help to those who face imminent cut off of their electricity or gas heating.
Emergency assistance means that individuals and families do not have to choose between paying their heating bills, refilling their prescriptions or buying food for their children.
The volunteer-led program is based at St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Norfolk. Volunteers will be staffing the office 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays beginning Dec. 7 and continuing through January and possibly February. People seeking energy assistance can call the Human Warmth Fund at 757.727.3331 beginning Dec. 7. If calling during non-business hours, applicants may leave a message and a volunteer will call back.
If you would like to make a donation, you may download a contribution form here. Or you may Donate online. Please make a note in the comment section that you would like your gift to go to the Human Warmth Fund.
100% of all donations go to people in need.
Volunteer positions are available to take calls and process requests.
