If you would like to donate to victims of the recent storms that struck central and southeastern Virginia, please consult the VA Dept. of Emergency Management web site. At this time there is NO need for donations of clothing, furniture, etc. as clients have no way to utilize donated items. Their homes are damaged and there is NO place to collect, sort, store and distribute the items. Financial donations can be stretched further by reputable organizations and denominations, and funds will help stimulate the economy of the impacted areas. An added benefit is that clients can decide for themselves what item is most useful to suit their needs. Please visit the VA Dept. of Emergency Management or the National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (NVOAD) web sites for a list of reputable organizations.
May is National Foster Care Month.  All children deserve a safe, happy life -- including the 513,000 American children and youth in foster care.  Young people in foster care especially need nurturing adults on their side because their own families are in crisis and unable to care for them.  Learn how you can become a foster parent with LFSVA!
LFS continues our 120th anniversary with a year of music and ministry featuring Exit 9 musicians Clay Arthur and Gloria Goeres. Here is more about this energetic duo.
